In 1977, Joe and Margaret Register were missionaries in Paraguay, South America. Having witnessed the influence that the media had upon all classes of society in that setting, the Registers began seeking a way to reach the masses through television and radio. Spanish Television And Radio (STAR Media Ministries) was formed in 1978 and began producing and distributing television and radio programming for children in Hispanic nations.
In 1979, a fuzzy orange puppet named Bobo introduced STAR's first Hispanic children's program, Lugar Secreto (The Secret Place). "Arbolandia" is a community setting where the lovable puppets and creative people interact to teach valuable character traits and lessons while conducting the viewers and listeners to the Solution, who is Jesus Christ.
After the ministry went Global the name was changed to, "Kingdom Kids Media Outreach." Lugar Secreto is now one of the most-watched children's television programs in Latin America. The Secret Place appears on television and cable networks in America and around the World and is being translated in 14 languages. The programs are aired on 14 satellites reaching into 100+ countries sharing the love of Jesus with children and familes.
